Planted in 2010, the beautiful orchard at Knockraich Farm is home to over 700 traditional British variety apple trees. Cultivated with care in the fertile soils of rural Stirlingshire, our orchard stands as a testament to our passion for genuine farm provenance, ecological sustainability, and zero-mile food production.
Our apple trees operate in perfect harmony with the changing Scottish seasons. Every autumn, we look forward to a heavy, hand-picked yield that serves our estate in two distinct ways:
Traditional Eating Apples: Crisp, sweet, and bursting with natural flavour, our seasonal eating apples are brought straight into the kitchen to be featured in the signature country baking and handmade desserts served at The Courtyard Café.
Premium Juicing Apples: Our sharp, traditional juicing apples are carefully pressed right here on the farm. We turn our autumn crop into pure, refreshing orchard juices that are featured on our café menus and bottled for our Farm Shop shelves.
Nestled quietly among the rows of apple trees are our two active honeybee hives. These hard-working colonies are vital to our farm’s micro-ecosystem, providing essential, natural pollination that ensures a heavy, healthy fruit crop every single year.
As a wonderful byproduct of this seasonal pollination, our bees reward us with a limited, incredibly pure yield of sweet wild-flower honey later in the season—a true taste of the Fintry landscape that our kitchen loves to incorporate into our artisan menus.
